Multi-colored streamers fell from the rafters onto the Texas Longhorns after Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark handed the conference trophy to head coach Vic Schaefer. Texas women’s basketball advances to semifinals in win against Jayhawks

After earning a second-place finish during the regular season, Texas traveled to Kansas City looking to win another conference tournament title. As the two seed, the Longhorns drew a surging Kansas Jayhawks team looking for revenge.

Pink lights, bandanas and balloons filled the Moody Center as No. 5 Texas celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness and faced the Iowa State Cyclones in what could be a pivotal game for the Longhorns. Junior guard Rori Harmon continues to make an impact after injury

The buzzer sounded and the Moody Center erupted in cheers as the Longhorns upset the No. 2 Kansas State Wildcats in a game in which the energy and attendance matched Texas’ earlier game in the season against UConn. The main difference between those games, however, was the absence of Rori Harmon.

Texas veterans lead the way in win against Cincinnati

Just three days ago, the Texas Longhorns fell to rival Oklahoma in a tightly contested game. After that game, head coach Vic Schaefer questioned his team’s effort. In response, the Longhorns dominated the Cincinnati Bearcats at home 67-50.

In the home win against the Bearcats, the Longhorns had to live life without another impactful player as the Longhorns had already lost junior guard Rori Harmon. Freshman point guard Madison Booker sat on the bench with an injured hamstring.

Head Coach Vic Schaefer furious as No.10 Texas falls to rival Oklahoma 91-87

After trailing for three quarters, No. 10 Texas cut Oklahoma’s lead to one point, 85-84, with less than one minute to play. The Longhorn faithful stood as one, making as much noise as possible, trying to will Texas to a victory over rival Oklahoma. No. 11 Texas women’s basketball dominates Kansas 91-56 in bounce-back win

The Texas Longhorns returned to the Moody Center after an underwhelming loss on the road to Kansas State, where they faced the unranked Kansas Jayhawks. Outside of the opening minutes of the game, it was a show stopping performance from Texas thanks to the Longhorns’ precise shooting and suffocating defense.

The Texas Longhorns visited the Kansas State Wildcats in a game that came down to one of the last possessions. Although freshman forward Madison Booker tallied her second highest scoring game of the season with 23 points, the Longhorns fell to No.12 Kansas State 61-58.

Defensive back Ryan Watts declares for NFL Draft

The mass exodus happening on the 40 Acres continues as the Longhorns lose defensive back Ryan Watts to the NFL draft. With his departure, the Longhorns now total seven players going to the 2024 NFL draft alone. Watts chose not to use his extra year of eligibility due to Covid.

Texas women’s basketball brings home hardware from the U.S. Virgin Islands

The now 7–0 Texas Longhorns completed the Paradise Jam Tournament in the U.S. Virgin Islands over Thanksgiving week, winning three games in three days.

“(I’m) super proud of our kids,” said Texas head coach Vic Schaefer. “They’ve had three great days. I’m really impressed with their focus and they have played their guts out on defense here. They have really guarded and they’ve made some folks really uncomfortable.”

The Texas Longhorns faced off against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Sunday in a 96-44 win. This was arguably the Longhorn’s best defensive game of the season.
